Why clients ask for them
What makes knotless braids different
With classic box braids, the braider ties the extension hair on with a small knot at the root. It looks fine, but that knot is where most of the pulling comes from.
Knotless braids skip it. Simone starts each braid with your own hair and feeds the extension hair in a little at a time. The root stays flat against your scalp, the part looks like it grew that way, and there's far less tension on your hairline.
That's why so many clients who used to dread the first night in braids now ask for knotless every time. They move more freely too, so a high ponytail or bun is comfortable from day one.
Good fit if you
You'll love knotless braids if you…
- Have tender edges or felt sore after braids in the past.
- Want a natural-looking part that doesn't show a bump at the root.
- Like to wear updos since they bend easily into buns and ponytails.
- Need a style that lasts through work, school runs and the gym.
- Are growing out your hair and want a break from daily styling.

Questions people ask
Knotless braids FAQ
How long do knotless braids last?
Most clients get four to six weeks, and up to eight with good care at night. Past that, new growth can start to mat at the root, so it's kinder to your hair to take them down and give it a rest.
Are knotless braids better for your edges?
They're gentler, because there's no knot pulling at the root and Simone keeps the hairline braids a little bigger and lighter. No braid is zero-tension though, so if anything feels painful or you see little bumps along your hairline, tell her right away.
How much do knotless braids cost in Spanaway?
At Simone's they start at $180 for large knotless and go up for smaller sizes and longer lengths. Send a photo of the style you want to (719) 551-1159 and you'll get an exact price before you come in.
How long does it take to get knotless braids?
Plan on four to five hours for large, five to six for medium and six to eight for small at mid-back length. Coming in with hair washed, detangled and blow-dried saves real time.
Knotless braids vs box braids: which should I get?
If comfort and a natural part matter most, go knotless. Classic box braids can last a little longer at the root and cost a bit less. Simone does both, so ask her which suits your hair.
Can I walk in for knotless braids?
Yes, Monday to Saturday from 9am to 7pm. Because knotless braids take most of the day, arrive in the morning or call ahead so Simone can save enough time for you.
Make them last
Aftercare at home
- Sleep in a satin bonnet or on a satin pillowcase. It stops most of the frizz.
- Oil your scalp lightly two or three times a week, right on the parts.
- Use mousse once a week to smooth flyaways. Daily mousse builds up.
- Wash gently every 2–3 weeks with diluted shampoo, then dry fully.
- Take them down by week 8 so new growth doesn't lock at the root.
